The IBM PhD Fellowship and IBM Masters Fellowship Awards promote research, innovation, and the building of social, scientific, and technology-based collaboration with universities. The award programs are designed to support a spectrum of university needs:

• The highly competitive IBM PhD Fellowship Awards provide funding for PhD students in the final years of their PhD program. Nominations are accepted from faculty members at universities globally to recognize and support exceptional PhD students.
• The IBM Masters Fellowship Awards provide funding to recognize and support outstanding Masters students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States. Nominations are accepted from university faculty members.
